Join us for a morning of gratitude, community, and support as we honor the dedicated men and women who serve and protect Central Indiana.

This event provides an opportunity to connect with local officers, learn more about the challenges and sacrifices of law enforcement, and strengthen the relationships that make our communities safer and stronger.

Proceeds from the event benefit the Central Indiana Police Foundation, helping provide critical resources, wellness support, and assistance to officers and their families. Together, we can show our appreciation for those who serve and ensure they have the support they need both on and off the job.

MEET THE SPEAKER

William Owensby

State of Indiana Fraternal Order of Police President

The Central Indiana Police Foundation is honored to welcome William Owensby, President of the Indiana State Fraternal Order of Police and a respected law enforcement leader with more than four decades of service.

William began his career with the Indianapolis Police Department and later the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department, serving more than 44 years in law enforcement, including 35 years as a sworn officer. Throughout his distinguished career, he held numerous leadership positions, including Field Training Officer, Mayor’s Security Officer, Narcotics Section Supervisor, District Field Sergeant, and Canine Section Supervisor.

From 2006 to 2014, William served as President of the Indianapolis Fraternal Order of Police Lodge, advocating for officers and their families. In 2016, he was elected President of the Indiana State Fraternal Order of Police, a position he continues to hold today.

During this special presentation, William will share a deeply personal and moving account of the loss of fellow Indianapolis Police Officer Jake Laird, who was killed in the line of duty in August 2004. Through his experiences, attendees will gain a unique perspective on the sacrifices made by law enforcement officers, the impact of line-of-duty deaths on police families and communities, and the importance of supporting those who serve.
