Thanking them for their Service

Title Sponsors: Pacers Sports and Entertainment & the Indianapolis Colts

Held on Friday, November 16th at Bankers Life Fieldhouse

Our Key Note Speaker was Davey Blackburn, Minister Resonate Church
Davey is the founding and lead pastor of Resonate Church located in Indianapolis. In November 2015 his wife of 7 years, Amanda, was tragically murdered. She was expecting the couple’s second child at the time of her death. Since that day Davey has been determined to help people through their valleys in life and teach them that nothing is wasted. He will reflect on his journey. He will share thoughts on his relationship with the IMPD and how they acted quickly to apprehend those that killed his wife. Then share how he found hope and eventually found a new life partner.

Our additional Speaker was Jo Ann Moore, Retired IMPD Officer, Mother of Officer David Moore – killed in the line of duty 2011
David was killed almost 8 years ago while working as an IMPD officer. She will share her tragedy to hope story. She has taken on a platform of organ donation as result of losing her son.

This event had two purposes

The first is to thank our law enforcement officers. This provides an opportunity to set down, enjoy a meal and learn about our community’s servants. Second it is to raise funds so the Central Indiana Police Foundation can continue to support them at a deeper level. As a new organization, our largest challenge is funding.

Our inaugural event was held in November 2017. It was very well received. From the Honor Guard performance to the moving stories from Molly Winters-Carie, Survivor, to Josh Biel, Colts Spokesperson, people left with a new understanding of the importance of supporting our officers.

Each table will host a Law Enforcement Officer from one of the departments within Indianapolis or surrounding communities. The table sponsors will be able to invite their team, vendors, friends and/or customers. We are hopeful that all guests will be able to make a donation or pledge that morning. We will also have some very awesome prizes for a few lucky officers.

The event will have k-9 demonstrations and exhibit tables related to what our officers are doing in the field and in the community.

About the foundation

The Central Indiana Police Foundation was formed in 2013 to assist officers in need. Through the Foundation’s Code One Fund, assistance is provided to help with a variety of hardships. Usually these hardships are the result of traumatic injury or sickness to the officer or his/her family. In addition, the Foundation helps with other needs related to their jobs. As an example, Trauma Kits and Ballistic Bullet Proof vests have been given to many officers in Indianapolis and surrounding areas.
