Samaria Blackwell embodied love and service from a young age. Intelligent and quick-witted, she excelled at everything she did and had dreams of eventually becoming a police officer.
Her humor lifted spirits and she could make friends wherever she went. She loved helping
people and could often be found serving others. Samaria’s passion for helping others led her to
lifeguarding and coaching youth teams.
Tragically, Samaria’s life was cut short on April 15th, 2021. Her legacy lives on through the
Samaria Blackwell Memorial Scholarship, which honors her dream of becoming a police officer
and her commitment to loving and serving others
The Samaria Blackwell Memorial Scholarship is for someone who plans to enter a law enforcement career. You must be an Indiana resident attending or planning to attend an Indiana
college.
Two $600 scholarships will be awarded. The scholarship application process is now open and will close February 28, 2025. The winner will be contacted in March of 2025 and the scholarship will be for the 2025-2026 school year.
