IMPD Mounted Patrol

What We Do

Often seen riding beautiful, powerful horses throughout Central Indiana, the IMPD Mounted Patrol is an iconic and effective unit within the force. From crowd control at large events to patrolling city parks and neighborhoods, the IMPD Mounted Patrol provides a unique set of advantages like greater visibility in crowds, easier navigation on uneven terrain, and improved community engagement.

What We Do

CIPF’s Impact on the IMPD Mounted Patrol

The CIPF is proud to support the IMPD Mounted Patrol’s mission to enhance public safety and foster positive community relations. Through generous donations and partnerships provided by the local community, CIPF provides important resources that help maintain and advance the Mounted Patrol’s capabilities.

Set to open in 2024, the CIPF helped fund a brand-new barn for the Mounted Patrol. This new 20,000-square-foot facility will be more than just a barn; it will be a world-class center for the IMPD Mounted Patrol. It will house spacious stables, dedicated riding arenas, and functional office space.
