The First Samaria Blackwell Scholarship Winners Announced
The first Annual Samaria Blackwell Scholarship program has been a big success. We are proud to announce that the 2022 winners of the Samaria Blackwell scholarship are:
William Schmitt – Freshman at Indiana University. He has several officers in his family. His uncle is Luke Schmidt with the IMPD Mounted Unit. William plans to go through the Indiana University Law Enforcement Academy which is a division of ILEA.
Chloe Endsley – Senior at Plainfield High school. Her father is a Plainfield Police Officer. She is attending IUPUI in the fall. Her goal is to work her way up to a crime scene investigator position.
On Friday, April 29, 2022, a dinner was had for the scholarship winners and Samaria’s family. Samaria’s parents (Jeff and Tammi) thought they would really like to meet both winners and be an encouragement to them. CIPF invited the winners, their families, the Blackwells along with Officer Brian Clouse who came up with the idea for the scholarship to dinner.
It was a wonderful time. The Blackwells’ shared about their daughter. The young winners shared about their goals. The Officers shared some nuggets of wisdom. CIPF did a small part to help with law enforcement recruitment by encouraging these two kids to stay the course and be the best officers.
WRTV wrote an article about the winners and you can read that here.
