February 27th IMPD Officer Thomas Mangan was seriously wounded by a man after a traffic stop in Fountain Square. Mangan, who was in field training at the time, was shot in the throat and suffered “significant damage” to his voice box and Adam’s apple, according to police. IMPD Chief Randal Taylor told reporters Mangan was in “great spirits” this week. “He is truly a man of faith,” Taylor said. “He is an incredible example of an officer that is dealing with a traumatic injury that he’s going to have to deal with for a while. But his spirit is right.” Officer Mangan has a long road to recovery. Thank you for your tax deductible donation to support he and his family during this time.
