Self Defense Class
At the end of April 2022, CIPF hosted its first self-defense class in Greenwood. This class served as a fundraiser for CIPF and was targeted to females in high school or college but open to anyone. We had a group of about 50 women of all ages who learned a variety of different skills and maneuvers to help protect themselves. The class was led by Bud Lich, a certified instructor at the Shooting Institute, along with a few of his colleagues.
The skills and techniques covered in the class included developing a defensive mind-set, learning how to defend against a club or knife attack, learning awareness to spot trouble before it is too close, learning how to escape holds and grabs, and learning pressure points to disable an attacker. We hope that everyone who attended feels more confident in how to protect themselves should they ever need it.
WTHR covered the class and you can read more about it here.
