Across Central Indiana, law enforcement officers are often the first to arrive when tragedy strikes. Thanks to trauma kits provided by the Central Indiana Police Foundation (CIPF), those officers are equipped to deliver immediate, lifesaving care, not only to fellow officers, but to civilians in critical moments. These kits have already helped save hundreds of lives.
Now, we have an opportunity to make them even stronger.
CIPF is working to equip every trauma kit with chest seals, a simple, compact tool that can make the difference between life and death in the case of a chest injury. When someone suffers a penetrating wound, air can enter the chest cavity and cause a lung to collapse. A chest seal creates an airtight barrier, helping restore breathing and buying precious time until advanced medical care is available.
Officers on the front lines have seen firsthand the impact these tools can have.

For just $13, you can provide a twin pack of chest seals. Ideally, every trauma kit should include two. Our goal is to fund 3,400 chest seals, enough to supply existing kits already in the field and ensure every officer has access to this critical resource when it matters most.
