At the Central Indiana Police Foundation, we believe supporting officer wellness means more than providing resources after a crisis. It means creating environments where officers can care for their physical, mental, and emotional well-being every day.
That’s why we were proud to fund the redesign of wellness spaces at both the Martinsville Police Department and the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department’s Downtown District.
Law enforcement officers face unique challenges. Long shifts, high-stress situations, critical incidents, and the demands of balancing work and family life can take a toll. Dedicated wellness spaces provide officers with a place to decompress, recharge, and focus on their overall health while on duty.
Martinsville Police Department Wellness & Lactation Room
The newly redesigned Wellness and Lactation Room at the Martinsville Police Department offers officers a comfortable, private space designed to support both wellness and family needs. The room provides a welcoming environment for nursing mothers while also serving as a quiet area where officers can take a moment to reset during demanding shifts.
By creating a space that supports officers through different stages of life and career, Martinsville PD is demonstrating that wellness includes caring for the whole person, not just the badge.
IMPD Downtown District Wellness Room
The new Wellness Room at IMPD’s Downtown District was designed to provide officers with a dedicated space focused on rest, reflection, and recovery. In a profession where officers are often expected to move from one high-pressure call to the next, having a space intentionally created for wellness sends a powerful message: taking care of yourself is part of taking care of the community.
This room offers officers a place to decompress, regroup, and prioritize their mental well-being while remaining ready to serve.
Investing in Those Who Serve
These projects reflect one of the Central Indiana Police Foundation’s core priorities: supporting the health and wellness of the men and women who protect our communities.
Officer wellness is not a luxury. It is a necessity. Healthy officers are better equipped to serve the public, support their fellow officers, and maintain strong relationships with their families and communities.
We are grateful to partner with agencies that recognize the importance of investing in their people and are committed to building a culture where wellness is valued and supported.
Together, we are creating spaces that remind officers they are not alone and that their well-being matters.
