The Central Indiana Police Foundation’s work is strengthened by board members who believe deeply in supporting the officers who serve our communities. For Tony Trent of HP Legacy, joining the CIPF Board was an opportunity to turn that belief into action.
Tony was inspired to get involved after seeing the challenges facing law enforcement officers and what he felt was a growing lack of understanding for the difficulty of their work.
“I felt strongly that those who serve and protect our communities deserve our support, appreciation, and resources.”
Serving on the CIPF Board gives Tony an opportunity to help ensure that support reaches officers in meaningful ways. Of all the work CIPF does, he is particularly passionate about helping officers and their families during difficult times.
Through programs and resources that provide assistance when it is needed most, CIPF helps remind law enforcement families that they have a community standing behind them.
“Knowing that we can provide encouragement, resources, and assistance to people who put so much on the line for our communities is incredibly meaningful to me,” Tony said. “It’s a way of showing officers that their service matters and that they and their families are not forgotten.”
Tony also hopes his involvement can help others see the people behind the badge. Officers have families and loved ones. They experience stress, uncertainty, fear, and many of the same challenges as the people they serve, while also navigating the unique demands of a career in law enforcement.
Supporting officers, Tony believes, also means recognizing the families who stand alongside them and share in many of the sacrifices that come with the job.
Through his service on the CIPF Board, Tony is helping strengthen that network of support and ensure officers and their families know their community appreciates their service and is ready to stand behind them.
