At the Central Indiana Police Foundation (CIPF), our mission is rooted in supporting the officers who serve our communities and the people they protect. Our 2025 Impact Report reflects a year of meaningful investment in officer wellness, public safety, and community connection across Central Indiana.
Standing with Officers and Their Families
Last year, CIPF supported the families of 11 fallen and catastrophically injured or ill officers, ensuring they had resources and assistance during some of life’s most difficult moments. We also walked alongside six officers on their recovery journeys, helping them access tools and support to manage stress in healthy, sustainable ways.
Prioritizing Wellness and Prevention
Officer wellness remained a top priority in 2025. CIPF hosted a statewide Wellness Summit, bringing together 25 police departments from across Indiana. Attendees gained practical tools and strategies to support physical, mental, and emotional health within their agencies, learning from experts both locally and nationally.
We also partnered with departments to create dedicated wellness rooms, safe, private spaces where officers can decompress, process difficult experiences, meet with peer support or wellness officers, or attend to personal needs. In addition, we helped fund proactive health screenings for 40 officers, leading to the early detection of previously unknown health concerns and allowing for timely medical intervention.
Equipping Officers to Save Lives
CIPF distributed 680 lifesaving trauma kits to police departments across Central Indiana, ensuring officers have the tools they need to respond effectively in critical situations.
Investing in Community Connection
Our work extends beyond officers to the communities they serve. In partnership with Lucas Oil, CIPF helped assemble 100 care kits for unhoused neighbors, filled with essential items like food, water, hygiene products, and cold-weather gear. These kits are being distributed by IMPD’s Special Homeless Unit to individuals across Indianapolis.
We also supported the G.R.E.A.T. (Gang Resistance Education and Training) Program, where officers engage youth in lessons on conflict resolution, gang and drug avoidance, and positive decision-making. More than 150 young people participated, building relationships with officers while enjoying enriching summer experiences.
Through 11 grants, CIPF supported local departments in hosting National Night Out events, strengthening trust and connection between officers and the communities they serve.
Funding Critical Needs and Opportunities
CIPF awarded $21,000 in grants to help departments meet needs that fall outside traditional budgets. We also supported the acquisition of 10 drones and accessories, enhancing departments’ ability to respond to emergencies, and helped bring four new K9 officers into service across Central Indiana.
We invested in the future of law enforcement by awarding a scholarship to a college student pursuing a career in the field, and by supporting leadership development and specialized training. This included helping manage funding to train 54 officers in leadership and 20 officers in dignitary protection.
Additionally, CIPF manages 14 dedicated funds that allow departments to raise and distribute resources for internal recognition, community outreach, youth programs like Shop with a Cop, and direct assistance to families in need encountered by officers in the field.

The impact reflected in the 2025 report is made possible by a community of supporters who believe in the importance of public safety, officer wellness, and strong community relationships.
As we look ahead, CIPF remains committed to expanding these efforts, ensuring officers are equipped, supported, and prepared to serve, and that the communities they protect continue to grow stronger.
